WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Democratic candidate and U.S. Rep. Jim Davis is closing in on his Republican opponent in the race for Florida's governorship. A Quinnipiac University poll released today shows the race has tightened to a statistical dead heat, with 44 percent supporting Davis and 46 percent supporting Republican state Attorney General Charlie Crist. A Rasmussen poll released last week also shows a close race, with Davis only five points behind Crist, 46-41.
"Jim Davis' positive message and innovative vision are resonating with Florida voters," Democratic Governors Association Chair New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson said.
