(3/5/06) Lawyers for Jessica Alba have sent Playboy a letter saying they will be sued if they don't pull their March issue from newsstands. The current issue features the bikini clad actress on the cover, in what she says is a cheap ploy to make people think that she posed nude in the magazine.
The "Fantastic Four" star didn't pose for Playboy photographers and never authorized the inclusion of any pictures of herself in the magazine. When Playboy readers named her as one of the "Sexiest Stars of the Year," the magazine placed a publicity photo of the actress, from the movie "Into the Blue" on its cover. Alba's lawyers claim that Playboy used the photos to create the false impression that Alba would appear in revealing pictures inside the magazine. The lawsuit also asks the magazine to pay for damages to Jessica Alba's reputation and career.
In the magazines defense, a spokesman pointed out that many stars appear on the cover of the magazine without appearing nude on the inside.
