10-17-06. Pop icon Madonna is in the news again. Society is in an uproar over her taking custody of a one-year old Malawian boy. She hopes to make the adoption permanent after an 18-month evaluation period. In a statement issued by e-mail, Madonna states that "we have gone abou the adoption procedure according to the law, like anyone else who adopts a child. Reports to the contrary are totally inaccurate."
