Black Online Retailer Encourages More Spending in the Black Community

Timberlake, NC (12/19/07 BlackNews.com) - AfricanAmericanDollarStore.com owner, Edna Swan is urging Blacks not to spend anymore money for Cultural Merchandise until they have gone to www.AfricanAmericanDollarStore.com or their local African American owned store.

Swan says "Please stop supporting those other businesses, and helping them pay their mortgages with your money, while Black businesses suffer."

This year untold numbers of African-American owned businesses have closed their doors. Some might say that it was due to the economic downturn...that's one factor. The real contributing factor for these closings was lack of community support. Their previous customers now patronize other businesses who in the past had totally ignored the Black consumer. This was the reason Blacks started their own businesses with their own products.

As one store owner in Harlem, NY said, "When we were trying to sell them Black greetings cards "Let them buy flowers or animals, we don't need greeting cards with Afro American images"

Imagine how spiritually and economically prosperous you and your community would be if everyone reading this pledged continuous financial support to African American owned businesses. Swan encourages people to spread the word and start shopping now.
