Raz B

RAZ B RELEASES FIRST SINGLE ON GENRE RECORDS LABEL

Raz B

Los Angeles, CA (BlackNews.com 7/17/07) - Raz B, co-founder of the multi-platinum selling group, B2K releases his first independent single "Fire" on Genre Records' 2007 Compilation The Heat. The single was co-written by Michael Winans of the legendary gospel family, the Winans.

Genre CEO Yvette Pitt says, "I am very happy Raz B chose Genre Records to release his first solo project. Raz and his manager, Ricky Romance, have been great to work with. The single was sent to radio a week ago and is gaining momentum. We have had requests for interviews with Raz and the other two releases sent to radio last week, Deep Rooted's 'Celebrate' and DJ Cochise's 'Big Thangz'. We are also in the process of planning a Heat tour in early fall".

The Heat features award-winning, San Diego-based Deep Rooted. Made up of Mr. Brady, Johaz, Brea and DJ Artistic, this hip-hop/soul band has performed with the likes of The Roots, Common, and Lupe Fiasco, just to name a few.

The third release is DJ Cochise's "Big Thangz;" a hard hitting hip-hop reggae hit that features rappers Mr. Thorobred and Willpow, is sure to please the crowd. Just like the others, the optimism DJ Cochise has for The Heat is necessary for its success.

Other artists on the compilation include Nikko Smith, who was a finalist in season four of American Idol, and a fan favorite, Miami-based Hip Hop group Blacc Wolf Cartel with their big club banger "Wait a Minute" and Reggae artist Karell who has performed with Shaggy; and now has his chance in front with his new single, "Running".

It is a true testament of the times for artists with material for all audiences coming together on their own terms on a project of this measure; it is truly monumental. DeWayne McCoy, Breathe, Trueful, Rocx, and others are also featured on the compilation. Scheduled for an August 14 release date, The Heat will be available at a store near you and on-line at iTunes and other major retailers. Check out The Heat at www.genrerecords.com
