BLACK WEALTH MATTERS: ENCOURAGING BLACKS TO SAVE MONEY
Hollywood, CA (BlackNews.com 6/8/07) - In the land of dreams, entrepreneurs may find their business aspirations come true at the Dream Makers: Access to Business Capital seminar on June 20, 2007. Sponsored by Microsoft, the seminar allows entrepreneurs to present their growth capital needs to a selected audience of venture capitalists, banks, private investors, and fellow entrepreneurs. Pre-screened companies who successfully impart their business model may walk away with millions of dollars in financial backing.
Dream Makers: Access to Business Capital is an elite funding matchmaker, connecting multi-million dollar companies with investors and financial institutions in niche communities. The inaugural seminar targets the African American community. Endorsed by the Greater Los Angeles African American Chamber of Commerce (GLAAACC), the event is produced by Black Butterfly Consulting and Conexion. "This is a tremendous opportunity for our members and community at-large to power network with investors and other successful entrepreneurs," said Angela Gibson, GLAAACC president and Area Manager of External Affairs for AT&T. "This is a highly selective meeting of the minds and will showcase innovative companies in our community."
Modeled after the California Hispanic Chamber of Commerce's Access to Business Capital series, Dream Makers intends to replicate the model in various ethnic communities.
