Dear Lord,

Why You chose to take Aaliyah away from us is unknown but what we do know is that she is in a far better place.

I hope she knows how much all her fans still miss and love her. She touched our lives with her beautiful voice and we shall never forget.

Please help her to watch over and protect her loved ones.

!!!WE MISS YOU, AALIYAH!!!

In Gods's name, we pray.
Peace

MissNix

Rest in Peace Soul Sister

All day I think of you.
At nights I do the same.
I cry my self to sleep.
In my dreams I hear your name.
I now I'm not the only person who remembers you.
"The Game" wrote the song "DREAMS".
I miss you so much Aaliyah.
I guess its not as bad as it seems.
I miss you down here Aaliyah.
I know there's a couple others more.
There are others who passed in my lifetime,
But it you, Aaliyah, I adore.

Family and Friends Mourn Aaliyah

Aaliyah

Aaliyah was and still holds the name of being an angel. I still can't figure out why i hurt so much over her death, why I miss her so bad.

Forevah Aaliyah will hold the true meaning of an angel, she held such a  huge spirit in the musiq and dance industry. I love you, i miss you, i can't wait to stand by you and look down on everyone today. shes watching us, shes so proud of our actions, lets make aaliyah proud. Aaliyah is the reason that god gave life, i love you baby angel..!

A poem-The Power of Love dedicated to Aaliyah & Lisa

The Air I breathe I wish I could share with you

All the winter, summer, spring and fall I will automatically think of you

Because I haven't let you go, this is from the power of love

Your picture stares at me each and every morning as if you're near and

at night

It's very clear from the star

I see before me heaven must be missing

This angel, but tonight she spends one

More night on earth making sure

She is seen and heard because she is

Here based on how heavy my heart feels

Knowing she is missed she has came

Just to ease my pain and these are all the many things she can

now do

Because we have given her the

Power of Love to.

Written by Lynne M. Vaughan --I'll always miss you two.

Will Be Missed

Its hard to believe that you're gone In reality you're still here You've shown everyone what you could have shown them With your mind and heart that is dear... You are an angel sent down from above I guess he felt it was your time to go Just remember there's nothing here but love I just thought I'd let you know.

Aaliyah's Family to Speak at the MTV Awards

(September 5, 2001) - The family of Aaliyah is set to speak out publically for the first time since her tragic death in a Bahamas plane crash on the upcoming MTV Video Music Awards (VMA's). Her brother, Rashaad, an aspiring actor and filmmaker will addresse the crowd following a tribute to Aaliyah. The ceremony will be held in New York City at the Lincolon Center. It will be broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. Standard Eastern Time on MTV.

Aaliyah & the Message

(September 1) -- Yesterday, the bereaved family of Aaliyah Dana Haughton, laid her to rest in New York amidst family, friends, and hundreds of fans.

A week later, it is still shocking to anyone who appreciated Aaliyah's musical and dance talent. Why would God take someone so young, who still had so many years to accomplish even greater things?

Yes, we mourned Tupac and Biggie; however, in a way, we could see that maybe the thug life they lead attributed to their demise. From all accounts, Aaliyah didn't appear to harbor violent tendencies and the message in her music was far from it.

There are those "haters" who cannot understand how so many people can mourn the loss of a singer who was not even mainstream yet; even going to the point of comparing her death to those of Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy, Jr.

Her death seems more tragic than theirs. Perhaps because she was only 22 and a half years old. Perhaps, because, unlike them, she left a boyfriend and both parents to grieve her loss.

I have wondered all week long, why the death of a singer bothers me so much -- making me sick at the stomach, when I did not know her. Yes, I was a fan, but, still, why?

My final conclusion is that the tragic death of Aaliyah made me question my own mortality and time left on this earth. How would those I left behind feel about me? Who would take care of my child? Would I go to Heaven or Hell?

Tragic incidents like these, make us stop for a second from our hectic, day-to-day schedules of trying to make it in this world, and think about what is important. When was the last time you told your loved ones you loved them and how much they mean to you? This may all seem trite and cliche', but it is so true. The game of "What If" is something we should all try to avoid.

Live each day as if it is your last. Remember that God comes first in your life, then your family and friends. All of our days are numbered and no one knows what day will be their last.

The message in Aaliyah's passing is surely one that everyone should contemplate and reflect on.

Sincerely,

Ceci
