Swanzetta Smith - Author |

Riverside, CA - (8-21-03). Denise Richardson has two reasons to be afraid. Someone wants her dead and someone else wants her heart. She doesn't have time to figure out which is more dangerous in the exciting new suspenseful romance novel, Private Passions (now available through 1stBooks), by Swanzetta Smith.
All that Denise needed was time to heal from the breakup of her four-year relationship and the loss of her best friend. While getting ready for work, she is surprised by two unknown intruders in her apartment. She escapes barely, but not before she witnesses the murder of her neighbor. The danger grows deeper when she meets Terrence O'Neal, the handsome homicide detective assigned to the case.
After talking with her, he is skeptical of her innocence. Lately, however, he has had trouble trusting any woman. Since his engagement ended in disaster, he has locked up his heart and misplaced the key. As the killers begin to threaten her life, she seeks his protection. It isn't part of his assignment, but as his heart slowly becomes involved, he won't stop until the killers are caught. As they negotiate the clues of the case and close in on the killers, their hearts both begin to open.
A fast-paced, suspenseful romance, Private Passions is a story of two sensitive people treading dangerous ground. Smith was born in Los Angeles and currently resides in Riverside, Calif., where she works in law enforcement. A member of both the Black Writer's Alliance and Romance Writer's of America, she occasionally volunteers with a local non-profit performing arts ministry that raises scholarships for students majoring in the arts. Smith began her artistic career in singing and dancing. She has been writing since 1996. Private Passions is her first novel.
